Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)

UK/US 127m, Colour
Director: Rupert Sanders; Cast: Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, Sam Claflin

Loosely adapted from the Brothers Grimm fairytale, Snow White and the Hunstman is an ambitious special effects-filled adventure which unfortunately suffers from weakly scripted main characters and an uninspired performance in the title role. As Snow White, Kristen Stewart has little charisma and virtually no chemistry with her supporting cast. Despite an abundance of action, a captivating performance by Theron as the sorceress Raveena, and the engaging cast of computer enhanced dwarves, Snow White is a surprisingly tedious affair (Klaus Ming June 2012).
