Cleanflix is a documentary about entrepreneurs in the State of Utah who edited popular movies, so as to sanitize their content for the conservative tastes of their customers who were counselled to avoid R-Rated films by church leaders. In exploring the themes of censorship, copyright, morality and hypocrisy, a charismatic local business owner named Daniel Dean Thompson emerges as a leading, and outspoken proponent for the clean film community. With the support of many of his jubilant customers, Thomson defiantly reopens his business after a court ruling that prohibits these businesses. Ironically, his moral high ground is quickly eroded when he finds himself a defendant in a sex scandal which is less than good for his morality-minded business (Klaus Ming September 2013).
