Quadrophenia is a gritty British coming of age film adapted from The Who’s 1973 album of the same name. Jimmy, a gawky disillusioned 1960s young “Mod” is a member of a scooter gang which is at odds with the leather-clad motorcycle riding “Rockers”. Though technically not a musical, Quadrophenia deftly mixes period and modern pop music to distinguish the two sides in this engaging social drama. Imbued with style and a dark sense of humor, Quadrophenia finds Jimmy caught between his friendship for a childhood friend turned rocker and his pill popping counter-culture mates as he searches for his own identity (Klaus Ming September 2013).
