Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

USA 83m, Animated Colour
Director: David Hand; Cast: Adriana Caselotti, Lucille La Verne, Pinto Colvig, Roy Atwell

snowwhiteSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a beautifully made full-length animated feature film that remains a remarkable technical and artistic achievement. While Snow White gets top billing, it is undoubtedly her supporting cast who make this movie so memorable. Sure, Snow White has a couple of good numbers, but it’s “heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it’s off to work we go” that makes Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy and Sneezy the most memorable characters in this film, not to mention the menagerie of brightly coloured ever-moving forest animals that really bring this Disney-animated feature to life (Klaus Ming February 2009).
