There Will Be Blood (2007)

USA 158m, Colour
Director: Paul Thomas Anderson; Cast: Daniel Day-Lewis; Paul Dano; Dillon Freasier

There-Will-Be-BloodThere Will be Blood is a deliberately paced dark story about a mean-spirited oil man played by Daniel Day-Lewis who adopts an orphaned boy and uses him to promote himself as a family man to facilitate his business dealings. Driven by greed and desire for power, he alienates everyone around him, including his adopted son. There Will Be Blood has an authentic feel about it which includes Lewis’ amazing performance as Danial Plainview and spectacular cinematography which helped earn this film the critical acclaim and numerous awards which it received and deserved (Klaus Ming March 2009).
