Director: Guy Hamilton; Cast: Sean Connery, Honor Blackman, Gert Fröbe, Harold Sakata, Tania Mallet, Shirley Eaton
Until Daniel Craig’s 2005 reprisal of the Bond role in Casino Royale (2006), Connery’s performance as James Bond in Goldfinger was arguably the best of the franchise. As a movie, Goldfinger is responsible for the introduction of super cool spy gadgetry, including Bond’s fully customized Aston Martin, which was one of the most memorable automobiles in cinema history. Goldfinger also boasts plenty of humor, style and excitement, not to mention a giant laser, great villains and plenty of quotable lines – all of which set the standard for every Bond film to follow (Klaus Ming November 2009).
