Having found that I am presently making my way through 10 Bad Dates with Robert De Niro for a third time, it’s apparent that I am in need of a remedial reading course, or that Richard T. Kelly has put together one of the more entertaining books on film that I have encountered – which is apparently next to impossible to put down. Despite the fact that “10 Bad Dates” is simply a book of lists, which arguably is a clichéd technique for anyone has spent more than 10 minutes reviewing film, it is the subject matter of Kelly’s often satirical and generally thought-provoking “alternative” lists; and the very well-informed and hilarious writings of the 45 contributors which make this an exceptionally entertaining and informative read (Klaus Ming March 2010).
