The Big Lebowski is a wonderfully colourful film noir styled comedy starring Jeff Bridges aka The Dude – who suffers a case of mistaken identity with millionaire Jeffery Lebowski, who subsequently hires Bridge’s lazy-ass bowling-loving character to act as an intermediary with kidnappers who have abducted and are holding “Bunny” – his young “fun-loving” wife for ransom. When The Dude’s friends get involved, the plans turn into a scheme to steal the million dollars ransom after they learn Bunny’s true identity. Although The Big Lebowski is most often associated with The Dude, it is the interplay between John Goodman’s and Steve Buscemi’s characters – his ever arguing bowling buddies which provide much of the film’s many brilliantly comedic moments (Klaus Ming March 2011).
