Battleship (2012)

US 131m, Colour
Director: Peter Berg; Cast: Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård, Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker, Liam Neeson, Tadanobu Asano

battleshipBattleship is a ridiculous big budget special effect filled science fiction movie that is tenuously based on the Hasbro board game of the same name. In what appears to be little more than a two-hour recruitment video, Battleship is a ridiculous cliché ridden production complete with trite dialogue and a script that resembles a video game. The huge budget was seemingly spent on little more than special effects which looked suspiciously like Transformers, but not nearly as interesting (Klaus Ming April 2013).

I remember seeing a trailer for this and thinking, “Wow, this can’t be as bad as it looks,” but I guess it was. 🙂

Loud and stupid, but rarely ever fun. Just loud and stupid. Good review Klaus.

@ Anthony – I thought the same thing, and was I wrong! And @ CMrok – yeah, if I were to sum it up in two word: Loud and stupid are pretty much perfect 🙂
