Director: David O. Russell; Cast: Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, with Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Chris Tucker, Anupam Kher, Julia Stiles
Silver Linings Playbook is the story of a husband who suffers from a bipolar disorder. Hampered by a restraining order, he hopes to win back the affections of his estranged wife by befriending a young woman who has her own psychiatric issues and a desire to enter a dance competition. In finding a balance between humor, drama and an exploration of mental health issues, Russell’s cast of quirky characters are a delight in this darkly comedic love story (Klaus Ming March 2014).
I loved this movie for many reasons, and as much as I hate to say it, the main one may be that it was filmed literally right outside of my house. Good review Klaus.
Seeing the trailer last year, I had no real interest in seeing this one, and boy was I wrong. Loved it as well. A terrific movie.
I had no intention of watching this movie back when it released, but I somehow went to the multiplex and sat inside. It turned out to be one of the funniest, liveliest film experiences ever. Love this movie.
Great review. 🙂
Thanks! My feelings exactly, this one really surprised me.
