The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a decidedly different version of the 1947 film adaptation of James Thurber’s 1939 short story of the same name. Living much of his life in the fantasies he creates with own mind, Mitty is a quiet man about to lose his job with Life Magazine as it goes digital. Mitty’s fantasies are realized when he attempts to track down an elusive travel photographer who leads him to some beautiful locations around the world. Reminiscent in the style of a Wes Anderson production, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a light, but warm-hearted film that is full of surprises (Klaus Ming March 2014).
Good review Klaus. It’s ambitious to a fault, but Stiller handles it all pretty well.
I was originally going to see this at the theater after seeing the trailer, then read a lot of negative reviews.
I wish I hadn’t waited now. I don’t agree with much of the negative criticism this has received. At the end of the day, this is one of my favourite films from 2013.
