The Zero Theorem (2013)

UK, Romania, 106m, Colour
Director: Terry Gilliam; Cast: Christoph Waltz, Mélanie Thierry, David Thewlis, Lucas Hedges

the-zero-theoremThe Zero Theorem is the story of a mentally unstable computer genius living in a hyper-monetized near future world who is waiting for a phone call that will explain the meaning of life. As with Brazil (1985) and 12 Monkeys (1995), Gilliam blends science-fiction and fantasy with social commentary in this exploration of existence. As the final installment his dystopian trilogy, The Zero Theorem convincingly charges that a life based on faith of some greater existence is a life that is wasted (Klaus Ming July 2014).

This sounds great. I’m a huge fan of the other pictures you mentioned — how is it that I’ve never even heard of this?

    Thanks for the heads-up.
