You’re Telling Me! (1934)

US 67m, B&W
Director: Erle C. Kenton; Cast:W.C. Fields, Joan Marsh, Buster Crabbe, Adrienne Ames, Louise Carter, Kathleen Howard

Youre telling meAs a henpecked husband with a taste for alcohol, W.C. Fields is Sam Bisbee, an optometrist and the inventor of the punctureless tire. Bisbee is also the caring father of a daughter who is love with a young man whose mother is against their proposed marriage plans. A remake of his earlier silent film So’s Your Old Man (1926), You’re Telling Me! presents a softer side of Fields and includes a ridiculously funny ostrich scene as well as his classic wobbly golf club gag (Klaus Ming January 2015).
