The Wrong Man (1956)

US 105m, B&W
Director: Alfred Hitchcock; Cast: Henry Fonda, Vera Miles, Anthony Quayle, Harold Stone

the_wrong_man_1956A psychological thriller with a documentary look and feel, The Wrong Man is based on the true story of Christopher Emmanuel Balestrero, a New York musician who was arrested and charged with assault and robbery after he was incorrectly identified by a number of eyewitnesses. As one of Hitchcock’s favourite themes, a man wrongfully accused, The Wrong Man is a frustratingly painful drama which slowly builds in nightmarish fashion with tragic consequences (Klaus Ming January 2015).
