Gone Girl is a dark edge-of-your-seat thriller based on the 2012 Gillian Flynn novel of the same name. Beginning as a murder mystery, a rather familiar plot about a missing wife and a husband suspected of her murder is turned on its head. As the femme fatale, Rosamund Pike is brilliant as Amy, the scheming sociopath, whose deeds even surpass Alex in Fatal Attraction (1987). Despite its lengthy running time, the film never drags, and though criticized for its plausibility, it is a well-crafted story that also provides a commentary on the news media’s ability to exploit and sensationalize high-profile crime stories for ratings and profit (Klaus Ming February 2015).
Wild, wacky and over-the-top, but most of all, fun. And that’s what worked for me the most. Good review Klaus.
Definitely a crazy movie that deserves a look.
Nope, just wild, wacky and over-the-top. DID. NOT. LIKE.
I know Steve, it’s no Seven Samurai 😉
That was a better movie!!!
