totoroMy Neighbor Totoro is a wonderfully whimsical animated fantasy about two sisters who move into an old country house with their father while waiting for their convalescing mother to return from hospital. Acquainting themselves with the spirits of rural Japan, Satsuke and Mei discover Totoro, a giant furry magical creature who they believe to be the king of the forest. A lighthearted story, Totoro and his woodland friends, including an amazing cat bus, provide amusement and help for the sisters as they wait in wonder for their mother’s return (Klaus MIng February 2015).

What this movie lacks in plot it makes up for in imagination and pure joy. Such a wonderfully inventive and beautiful film.
