Les Dents de Fer (1913)

France 13m, Silent, B&W
Director: Léonce Perret; Cast: Marie Dorly, Valentine Petit

les_dents_de_ferLes Dents de Fer is a macabre melodrama about a doctor who races to save the life of a young girl, only to find himself alone in the middle of the forest caught in the jaws of an iron trap with nothing but his medical bag. Somehow the good doctor must escape if he is to get to the girl before it is too late. In a race against time, the doctor must do the unthinkable. Not dissimilar to Ralston’s real life situation in 127 Hours (2010), the victim becomes the hero when he finally reaches his destination (Klaus Ming March 2015).
