John Wick (2014)

US 101m, Colour
Directors: Chad Stahelski, David Leitch; Cast: Keanu Reeves, Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Adrianne Palicki, Bridget Moynahan, Dean Winters, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, Willem Dafoe

john_wickJohn Wick is a retired hitman and the victim of a home invasion by the son of a Russian mobster who took a liking to his vintage Mustang, but not to his pet Beagle. Enraged, by the killing of his dog, a gift from his recently deceased wife, Wick the single-minded anti-hero seeks revenge and ends up a target himself. A ridiculous and intermittently humorous action film with a high body count that quickly loses steam after the first dozen or so killings, John Wick offers few original ideas and plenty of clichés to a well-worn genre (Klaus Ming March 2015).

It was a delight to see Reeves back in his old, ass-kicking form. Nice review Klaus.
