Director: Vittorio de Sica; Cast: Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni
Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow is a delightful satirical comedy told in three parts about three women who use their sexuality to get what they want. Adelina and Carmine are a poor couple who continue to have children to keep Adelina out of jail on a technicality that pregnant women cannot be incarcerated. Anna and Renzo are lovers out for a drive, but who part ways when Anna expresses more concern for damage to her husband’s new Rolls Royce, than for the life of a child who they nearly run down. Mara, a prostitute and her favourite customer Augusto attempt to convince a young man who is in love with Mara to go back to his seminary studies. Each short features Loren and Mastroianni who are a perfect match for the beautiful Italian landscapes in which they are filmed (Klaus Ming March 2015).
