Casino is an epic mob genre film based on the Nicholas Pileggi novel of the same name about the inner workings of Las Vegas Casinos during the 1970s and 80s. This is the story of Tangiers boss Sam “Ace” Rothstein, and his pal Nicky Santoro, an enforcer who keeps an eye on operations and ensures that the bosses back east get their cut. Employing extensive narration, and dazzling visuals, Casino also has a realistic documentary-like tone and attention to period details which provide an almost voyeuristic experience about the bad old days of Vegas (Klaus Ming April 2015).

Structurally, so similar to Goodfellas and now Wolf of Wall Street, but no less magnificent. Pesci, De Niro, Scorsese = win. Sharon Stone HUGE added bonus.
Agreed, I think this is Sharon Stone’s best supporting work.
A lot of people hate on this movie for being close to Goodfellas, but it still works. Nice review Klaus.
I hadn’t seen this one in years, and was surprised at how much i enjoyed watching it again. Despite the similarities, I really enjoyed the Vegas insider take in Casino.
