Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002)

Australia 93m, Colour
Director: Phillip Noyce; Cast: Everlyn Sampi, Tianna Sansbury, Laura Monaghan, Kenneth Branagh, David Gulpilil

Rabbit-Proof-FenceRabbit-Proof Fence is a heart-rending historical drama about the astonishing true-life journey of three young “mixed-race” Aboriginal girls who escape on foot from the Moore River Native Settlement in an attempt to make their way home over a distance of 1500 miles. A beautifully filmed production, with stunning visuals and a haunting soundtrack, the film’s postscript is simultaneously tragic and triumphant as historical testament for the “Stolen Generation” (Klaus Ming April 2015).
