Salvador (1986)

US 123m, Colour
Director: Oliver Stone; Cast: James Woods, Jim Belushi, Michael Murphy, John Savage, Elpidia Carrillo, Cindy Gibb

SalvadorSalvador is the story of Richard Boyle, a discredited veteran American journalist who looks for freelance work in El Salvador in 1980, and who finds himself caught between socialist revolutionaries and the right-winged American-backed government forces. Sympathetic to the revolutionaries, Boyle eventually decides to get out, but not without his local girlfriend. Critical of American foreign policy in Latin America, Salvador is a powerful political drama that blends Boyle’s experiences with the nightmare of the civil war (Klaus Ming May 2015).
