The Inbetweeners 2 (2014)

UK 96m, Colour
Director: Damon Beesley & Iain Morris; Cast: Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison, Joe Thomas, Emily Berrington

Inbetweeners-2As the sequel to The Inbetweeners Movie (2011), The Inbetweeners 2 reunites friends Will, Jay, Neil and Simon in Australia where they meet up with Jay who has made obviously false, but hilariously outrageous claims about his success as a DJ, nightclub owner and womanizer. The degree of familiarity and affection which the characters have for one another feels genuine, and is what sets this film series apart from most gross-out teen flicks. Though this is a very funny film, it is best enjoyed with a full knowledge of their history through the previous film and their television series (Klaus Ming May 2015).
