Beverly Hills Cop (1984)

US 106m, Colour
Director: Martin Brest; Cast: Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Lisa Eilbacher, Ronny Cox, Steven Berkoff, James Russo

beverly-hills-copBeverly Hills Cop is an action crime comedy about a smart ass Detroit detective who is transferred to Los Angeles after failing to drop his dogged investigation of a friend’s murder. As a street-smart detective Foley finds himself surrounded by a bewildering group of hyper-politically correct police officers who are a foil for Murphy’s wise cracking character. Somewhat disturbingly, the film’s otherwise lighthearted comedic feel is more than occasionally interrupted by excessively violent events that are awkwardly inserted into what is otherwise an entertaining movie (Klaus Ming June 2015).
