Zero Kelvin (1995)

Norway 118m, Colour
Director: Hans Petter Moland; Cast: Stellan Skarsgård, Gard B. Eidsvold, Bjørn Sundquist, Camilla Martens, Paul-Ottar Haga, Erik Øksnes

zero_kelvinA young romantic poet named Henrik Larsen leaves the comforts of 1920s Oslo and the love of his girlfriend Gertrude to spend a year as a trapper in Greenland. Hoping to write a book about his experiences, he finds himself trapped in a tiny frozen hut with a scientist and a sailor with whom he develops increasingly antagonistic relationships through the long arctic winter. Set in a beautifully bleak arctic landscape, Kjærlighetens Kjøtere is a dark atmospheric psychological drama and an intense character study that provides Henrik with more inspiration than he bargained for (Klaus Ming June 2015).
