Paul (2011)

UK/US 104m, Colour
Director: Greg Mottola; Cast: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Blythe Danner, John Carrol Lynch, Sigourney Weaver, Seth Rogen

PaulPaul is a science-fiction comedy about a stranded extraterrestrial who befriends two British comic book enthusiasts visiting America for the first time. A road trip / buddy movie, Paul is a lampoon of the science fiction genre and its fans. In assisting Paul-the-alien escape government agents, the trio find themselves in a series of silly and often predictable situations. Not nearly as clever as Shaun of the Dead (2004) or as funny as Hot Fuzz (2007), Paul is unlikely to win over new fans not already familiar with Pegg and Frost’s film work (Klaus Ming September 2015).

Good review Klaus. It’s not as hilarious as a tag-team of Pegg, Frost and Rogen should be, but still a funny movie nonetheless.
