It Follows (2014)

US 100m, Colour
Director: David Robert Mitchell; Cast: Maika Monroe, Keir Gilchrist, Daniel Zovatto, Jake Weary, Olivia Luccardi, Lili Sepe

itfollowsIt Follows is a good-looking low-budget supernatural coming-of-age horror film that develops some interesting subplots which might, at first glance, be easily overlooked or under appreciated. Simply put, a malicious supernatural entity incessantly follows its victims until it either kills them, or the victim transfers the curse to another through sexual contact. Played out among a group of teenage friends, It Follows is a frightening moral dilemma. Most interestingly is the relationship between Jay, a female Michigan college student, and her young male acquaintances who offer to help her out of her predicament (Klaus Ming October 2015).

Good review Klaus. Was a fresh piece of horror that also didn’t seem too annoying with what it was trying to do.

Considering the premise, I had low expectations for this one – probably part of the reason why i liked it more than i thought i would.

I’ve heard nothing but decent reviews of this – waiting for the DVD price to come down, but can’t wait to check it out!

A friend recommended we watch it while i was on vacation last month. definitely worth a look. Not sure i would purchase a copy, though i’m not really a fan of contemporary horror.
