21 Jump Street (2012)

US 109m, Colour
Director: Phil Lord; Christopher Miller; Cast: Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Brie Larson, Dave Franco, Rob Riggle, DeRay Davis, Ice Cube

21-jump-streetA comedic adaptation of the 1980s television series of the same name, 21 Jump Street places two young and mostly incompetent rookie cops into high school to pose as students as a means to break up a drug ring. A buddy film, the undercover cops, Hill and Tatum are told not to fraternize with the students – which of course is the basis for most of the film’s hilariously bombastic comedy gags. Directed by the dolphin-loving co-creators of the Clone High (2002-03) television series, 21 Jump Street contains the essence of this terrifically clever, but short-lived animated series which begs to be made into a motion picture (Klaus Ming November 2015).
