Barbara_StanwyckA versatile film and television star whose career began in late silent film era, Barbara Stanwyck garnered Oscar nominations for Best Actress for Stella Dallas (1937), Ball of Fire (1941), Double Indemnity (1944) and Sorry, Wrong Number (1948). Receiving an Honorary Academy Award in 1982 for her lifetime achievement in film, Stanwyck appeared in four films on the 1001 list, including: The Bitter Tea of General Yen (1933), Stella Dallas (1937), The Lady Eve (1941), and Double Indemnity (1944).
