Jupiter Ascending (2015)

US/Australia 127m, Colour
Directors: Lana Wachowski & Andy Wachowski; Cast: Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth

jupiterascendingJupiter Ascending is a gorgeous looking film about a science fiction Cinderella who finds herself at the center of an interplanetary family drama over the future of earth. Overshadowed by extraordinary special effects, Jupiter Ascending feels as if it constantly looking for itself as it borrows from other science fiction films, and as a result, fails to establish any new ground for itself. Though often fun, the film lacks the emotional depth or underlying meaning which one comes to expect from a Wachowski film (Klaus Ming November 2015).
