henry-fondaThe patriarch of a family of successful actors, Henry “Hank” Fonda was an acclaimed actor who appeared in over 100 movies over a career that spanned six decades. Initially a stage actor, Fonda had critical success in the form of Oscar nominations for his roles in The Grapes of Wrath (1940) and 12 Angry Men (1957). Known for his portrayal of a long list of largely likable characters, he would finally be rewarded with an Oscar for his role in On Golden Pond (1981). Fonda appeared in nine films on the 1001 list, including: Jezebel (1938), The Grapes of Wrath (1940), The Lady Eve (1941), The Ox-Bow Incident (1943), My Darling Clementine (1946), The Wrong Man (1956), 12 Angry Men (1957), Once Upon a Time in the West (1968), and On Golden Pond (1981) (Klaus Ming December 2015).
