Laurence_OlivierThe Baron Olivier of Brighton was an acclaimed stage and screen actor, manager and director who began his film career in the 1930s. Nominated 13 times, Olivier received three Academy Awards in 1948 as Best Actor, Producer and Director for Hamlet. He also received two honorary Oscars, one for his outstanding achievement as actor, producer and director in bringing Henry V (1944) to the screen; and another in 1978 for his lifetime achievement in film. Perhaps best known for bringing Shakespeare to the screen, he appeared in five movies from the 1001 list, including: Wuthering Heights (1939), Rebecca (1940), Henry V (1944), Spartacus (1960), and Sleuth (1972) (Klaus Ming December 2015).
