Inside Out (2015)

US 94m, Colour
Director: Pete Docter; Ronnie del Carmen; Voice Cast: Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling

Iinsideoutnside Out is an inventive animated adventure which largely takes place in a young girl’s mind. Her emotions, which are portrayed as colourful creatures living in her brain, guide her interpersonal relationships after her family moves from Pittsburgh to San Francisco. As a premise for a children’s film, this abstract idea is a fairly sophisticated concept, which Docter and del Carmen make not only understandable, but a lot of fun (Klaus Ming January 2016)

This is really surprisingly good. It is such a novel idea and the amazing thing is that it works.

I agree. I had seen a preview a little while ago, and thought it was a neat concept, but wondered how they’d pull it off for 90 mins.

Good review Klaus. Reminds me why I love Pixar so much to begin with.

Much better than expected – I guess I shouldn’t doubt Pixar to make something entertaining 🙂
