not-quite-hollywoodNot Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation! is the story of Australian exploitation cinema. Beginning in the 1970s this genre style of film making relied heavily on horror, nudity, violence and car crashes. It was also the birthplace of Mad Max (1979), perhaps the greatest Ozploitation film of all-time. A top-rate documentary, Hartley’s interviews include Quentin Tarantino, whose enthusiasm and support for the project was influential in getting this documentary made. Best of all, Not Quite Hollywood highlights many films that I will be putting on my need to watch list (Klaus Ming February 2016).
