manila-in-the-claws-of-lightHoping to find his childhood sweetheart who was recruited to work in Manila, 21 year-old Júlio Madiaga is forced to work dangerous and low paying jobs while searching the city for his lost love. A simple, but tragic love story, Manila in the Claws of Light provides a commentary on the evils of capitalism and the decadence of city life in a film that seems to have been inspired by Midnight Cowboy (1969) (Klaus Ming June 2016).
