Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal: The Movie (2016)

US 50m, Colour
Director: Jeremy Konner; Cast: Johnny Depp, Michaela Watkins, Jack McBrayer, Patton Oswalt, Alfred Molina, Henry Winkler, Andy Richter, Jacob Tremblay, Ron Howard

Donald Trump The Art of the DealA brilliant mockumentary, “The Art of the Deal” is heralded as a lost television “movie of the week” that was based on Donald Trump’s 1987 best-selling autobiography of the same name. Found on a VHS tape “bought” at a garage sale by Ron Howard, this short film is a parody of Trump who is masterfully imitated by Johnny Depp. Presented in chapters as “life lessons” in business, and largely based on Trump’s actual life, this is a film that doesn’t stray too far from the truth, and highlights the absurdity of Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign (Klaus Ming August 2016).
