Once Upon a Time in China (1991)

Hong Kong 134m, Colour
Director: Tsui Hark; Cast: Jet Li, Yuen Biao, Jacky Cheung, Rosamund Kwan, Kent Cheng

once-upon-a-time-in-chinaOnce Upon a Time in China is a martial arts action film set in the 19th century about Western influences on Chinese people and their society. It also follows the deeds of Master Wong Fei-hung, a healer and martial artist who seeks revenge on those who burn down his clinic. Infused with a good deal of over-the-top comedy and romance, this is an entertaining film that contains some innovative and amazingly choreographed fight sequences by Jet Li who gets the most out of his umbrella (Klaus Ming September 2016).
