The Battle of the Somme Centenary Tour

logosommeThe British High Commission, in partnership with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Honour 100 Initiative and Memorial University are hosting a free public screening of The Battle of the Somme (1916). The film will be accompanied by a live performance by the Memorial University Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Vernon Regehr, and will be performing Laura Rossi’s 2006 commissioned score. I’m looking forward to attending this sold out event on September 30, 2016, 7:00 pm at the St. John’s Arts and Culture Centre (Klaus Ming September 2016).

A most interesting and enjoyable evening. This is the first silent film that i’ve had the opportunity to see a silent film accompanied by a chamber orchestra.
