The Night of the Shooting Stars is a war drama narrated from the perspective of a woman’s memory as a six-year old girl during the liberation of her Tuscan town by the American Army. Through her eyes, we witness the partial destruction of her town and the killing of many of its inhabitants. Perhaps most poignant is a battle in a wheat field between fascists and partisans, who were former friends and neighbours. A highly personal film, this is about the making of memories during a childhood that was broken by war (Klaus Ming October 2016).
