Dennis Rodman’s Big Bang in PyongYang (2015)

UK/North Korea 93m, Colour
Director: Colin Offland; Cast: Matt Cooper, Dennis Rodman,

big-bang-in-pyongyangBig Bang in PyongYang is a documentary film about the unlikely friendship between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and former NBA star Dennis Rodman. Despite tremendous negative publicity from the US press, Rodman recruits a group of retired American basketball players to join him on a “goodwill” trip to North Korea to play against their national team. Full of cringe worthy moments, the film suggests that above all, this was a squandered opportunity to engage the North Korean people (Klaus Ming November 2016).
