Stretch (2014)

US 94m, Colour
Director: Joe Carnahan; Cast: Patrick Wilson, Ed Helms, James Badge Dale, Brooklyn Decker, Jessica Alba, Chris Pine, Ray Liotta, David Hasselhoff, Randy Couture

Stretch is a little-known but hilarious absurd comedy about a limousine driver who needs to make $6,000 in one night to pay off his gambling debts. Pinning his hopes on receiving a big tip from a single fare,”Stretch” finds himself in a series of increasingly bizarre situations while in the employ of an eccentric billionaire named Karos. Pine’s over-the-top performance as the billionaire is hysterical, as is Helm’s role as the ghost of Karl (with a K). Inexplicably, this film never had a theatrical release, but instead went straight to video on demand – an unfortunate fate for a wildly entertaining movie (Klaus Ming January 2017).
