Florence Foster Jenkins (2016)

UK/France 110m, Colour

florencefosterjenkinsFlorence Foster Jenkins is an incredibly improbable, but largely factual, biographical drama about a talentless New York heiress whose operatic ambitions knew no bounds. Meryl Streep’s performance as the beloved, but widely ridiculed songstress, is superlative in this wildly comical, yet heartfelt story. With a strong supporting cast, which includes Simon Helberg as the nervously reluctant pianist, Florence Foster Jenkins is a highly entertaining film with a soundtrack like no other! (Klaus Ming February 2017).
