Passengers (2016)

US 116m, Colour
Director: Morten Tyldum; Cast: Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Pratt, Michael Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, Andy García.

passengers_2016Passengers is a character-driven science fiction drama set aboard a fully automated spaceship which is carrying 5000 hibernating passengers on a 120 year flight. Their story begins thirty years into their journey in an asteroid field that damages the ship and awakens a single passenger. Faced with the prospect of a lifetime of loneliness, Jim faces a moral dilemma in his decision whether or not to wake up another passenger. While there are predictable plot elements which impact their relationship, this is an interesting and entertaining film (Klaus Ming February 2017).

I was positively surprised by this one. The critics were going down on it big time, but it actually worked out pretty well for me.
One question I would like answered: Did they get any children? Would it be right for them to get any children?

I was surprised too. This was much better than i had expected.

As for question on children – I half expected that the passengers would be greeted by them (and personally wouldn’t have seen this as any big moral dilemma).
