Elle is an unsettling psychological thriller about the daughter of a mass murderer who has suffered unwanted attention most of her life. As a result, she avoids reporting that she is the victim of a home invasion, and instead, fantasizes about taking revenge on her attacker. An unpredictable story with dark comedic turns, Elle is also lurid a commentary on the Catholic Church and its ability to ignore and absolve its own sins and those of its followers (Klaus Ming February 2017).
