Jackie (2016)

United States, Chile, France
Director: Pablo Larraín; Cast: Natalie Portman, Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig, Billy Crudup, John Hurt

jackie-2016Jackie is a mesmerizing biographical drama about Jacqueline Kennedy in the days and months following the assassination of her husband John F. Kennedy. Partly based on a Life magazine interview, and reenacting much of her Valentine’s day “Tour of the White House”, the former First Lady is brought to life by Natalie Portman’s stunningly realistic performance. As nostalgic as it is sad, Jackie is a film like no other that has been made about the Kennedy assassination (Klaus Ming February 2017).
