Tales from a Cracked Jukebox is a BBC documentary about Tom Waits, a highly influential and unusual artist, whose music has straddled the line between dissonance and harmony throughout most of his career. Also a successful actor, Tom’s highly inventive characters are found in a number of noteworthy films such as Down by Law (1986), Dracula (1992) and Short Cuts (1993). Described as a man out of time, and one of the most original musicians of the last five decades, Waits continues to creatively reinvent himself through a mix of seemingly incongruous genres (Klaus Ming March 2017).
