Kong: Skull Island (2017)

US/China/Australia/Canada
Director: Jordan Vogt-Roberts; Cast: John C. Reilly, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L Jackson, John Goodman, Brie Larson

Kong is a dark comedic reboot of the King Kong franchise which does nothing to dispel my theory that if you see a helicopter in a movie, there’s a good chance that it will crash. Following previous films, our adventurers “steam” to Skull Island, but in this version, Kong stays put for the duration of the movie. The film’s comic relief is a stranded Vietnam-era fighter pilot (Reilly), a resident Kong expert and scene-stealer, who has lived among the island’s native population. Like apples, this movie is good for your health, Check it out! (Klaus Ming April 2017).

    I’m cautiously curious — I’m not a big fan of Jackson’s version.

I liked Jackson’s version, but then again, I like 70s monster movies as well 🙂 Probably not for everyone, but if your a Godzilla fan, stay around for the final credits.
