Colossal (2016)

Canada/Spain 110m, Colour
Director: Nacho Vigalondo; Cast: Anne Hathaway, Jason Sudeikis, Dan Stevens, Austin Stowell, Agam Darshi, Tim Blake Nelson.

Colossal is a quirky science fiction fantasy about an uneasy relationship between former school mates which manifests itself through the appearance of a kaiju and giant robot which threaten to destroy Seoul, South Korea. Though remaining largely unexplained, the ties between Gloria and Oscar, and their giant counterparts is an inventive concept that provides interesting motivation for their actions as well as a great deal of suspense within the film that should be enjoyed by most movie monster enthusiasts (Klaus Ming April 2017).
