The Circle (2017)

US 110m, Colour
Director: James Ponsoldt; Cast: Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, John Boyega, Karen Gillan, Ellar Coltrane, Patton Oswalt, Glenne Headly, Bill Paxton

The Circle is an interesting near future psychological thriller about a young woman who is in the employment of a high-tech firm which attempts to change the world through social media while conspiring with government and lining the pockets of its executives. As another Orwellian inspired thriller, The Circle is perhaps more insidious than “Big Brother” in that the masses are now complicit in their own surveillance (Klaus Ming July 2017).

    Sounds like ‘Exam’.

I’ve not seen Exam (2009) – sounds like an interesting movie from descriptions i’ve read.

Yes, I suppose so, because several people adviced me “The Circle” when I mentioned “The Exam”. 🙂

  2. This you call a review?

    • Klaus

Yeah, not so much, but rather a thumbnail sketch of what is was about and my initial thoughts on the movies I watch – which is intended as a personal reminder and are posted here simply for the fun of it (in about 100 words or less).
