King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)

US/Australia/UK 126m, Colour
Director: Guy Ritchie; Cast: Charlie Hunnam, Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, Jude Law, Eric Bana

The re-imagining of the King Arthur legend by Guy Ritchie is a mess from the start. Armed with the “power” of Excalibur, the film’s reluctant hero might sound like a good idea, but it fails to be interesting largely because of a thin plot and visuals reminiscent of a video game. Despite the fast paced dialogue and stylized editing, there is little of note in this chaotic medieval affair (Klaus Ming August 2017).
